Most people believe that LinkedIn is a social media tool for individual professional networking. That’s definitely true. It’s great for creating a professional profile… a digital resume, if you will… and be able to connect to others in and around your industry. LinkedIn can do the same for your business… and so much more!
Extended Visibility
Having a company page on LinkedIn makes your company’s reach on LinkedIn so much further. How? Well, if you and all of your employees have completed LinkedIn profiles that mention your business, all of those “mentions” will link back to your company’s LinkedIn page. So anyone who visits any of your individual profiles will be able to view and to connect with your company. This is a fantastic opportunity to make sure you (as the business owner) have a complete profile as well as all of your employees. Make sure all information is up to date. Getting endorsements from clients an colleagues is essential. Everyone of you is basically promoting the business without even trying! You definitely want to use this to your advantage.
Promoting Products and Services
Think about all of the components and links to your work, testimonials, etc. that you can put on a personal LinkedIn page. You can pretty much do the same with a business LinkedIn page, but with a little more cowbell. Not only can you add multiple offerings to your page, visitors can see how many of their connections recommend your products and services, too.
Communication
Just like with Twitter, Facebook, and Google Plus, you are able to post status messages on LinkedIn personal and business pages. Communication with your clients, colleagues, and prospects doesn’t stop there.
LinkedIn Answers: Show off your extensive expertise by answering questions posed by users on a wide range of topics in (and out of) your industry. You can also ask questions to get to know how you can better serve your “community.”
LinkedIn Groups: Joining existing industry-related groups will continue to grow your network. You can also create groups for others to join. More of that extended visibility we spoke of before.
Recruiting with LinkedIn: Looking for more talent to join your team? Post your job openings on LinkedIn. It’s one of the easiest ways a prospect can find out all about you and in tern you find out all about them and who they are connected to.
